Challenge the Norm

This is an old Apple commercial (notice the rainbow apple) that not only sums up the company and how they strive to be different. But, the commercial also provides a great reminder to all of us that “being normal” is not going to change the world. People that change the world are the people that go against the status quo and stick up for what they believe in. For some of these people it took years or even decades for their vision to catch on, others still paid the ultimate price and never got to personally see their dream fully realized.

In the end, all of these people held true to their dreams and visions and the world has been forever changed due their persistence.

To that, I say “Thank You”.

It’s amazing that Apple has actually stayed consistent with their mission statement for so many years. Even when the times were tough the ame message remained. Today, being at an apex, it’s still true of their philosophy and production. It’s no wonder there base of consumers is so loyal. Reminds me of the quotation, “I dream things that never were and say why not.”

You know Gennaro, you are right. Apple went through some rough times too, but they have still held true to the vision. I had a long break from Apple and I am back now and love what they have done and are doing. That is a great quote, it is a real visionaries quote.

That was a remarkable commercial and I am not even an Apple buyer. I do agree with the message though. No one changes the world by following the rules. It is this spirit of change which brings us together. If we so adapt to it.
